here's a picture i did a while back while working on the blizzard fanart contest, maybe it'll help. i just created a tileable normalmap out of this and then retopologized my mesh according to the normalmal, so i had tileable rocks i could use for the environment.
Fortunately, Blizzard is helping you save time by making sure the servers are offline for 'emergency maintainence' two or three times a week. Four months of retail and they still can't get the game to stay up - nothing like getting nailed with an Emergency Shutdown while in the middle of an instance...
Ok, but what if you were reviewing a competitor's game? For example, do you think it would be fine if someone from Blizzard were to write a review of Warhammer Online. I still say it's a conflict of interest to work for a dev and write reviews, regardless of what you are reviewing.
that lava texture kicks ass, it's so rare to see someone make hand painted stuff that doesn't scream blizzard. you can just try distributing cracks more evenly. for example here's how i did it: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CziigHrduvs/UVDsD5trMDI/AAAAAAAADGI/yiWNECpfB3U/s1300/HP_Vulcanic1.jpg
I'm not going to say too much about this as I am sure you all understand. However, I will attempt to hijack this thread by bringing up the fucking EMPIRE that Blizzard has built using the GW IPs while not paying them a goddamn dime. That is some pretty blatant shit, right there :p
Could always do a short, Like a cinematic, something in game. It would be a way to avoid any programming and it would pretty artist orientated. On the other hand blizzard's engines tend to be user friendly. Footmen Frenzy for Starcraft :P? Either way I wouldn't mind joining if you could use me.
It's not his career path it's Washington. Washington is a horrible place for finding a job ..in fact it sucks for everything but vacationing . You know if you wanted to move you would do a lot better . You could even apply to work at Blizzard as an IT guy there even looking . Maybe expand your horizons outside of…
Arrrgh, now I wish I hadn't said "ass-backwards" since it's in your PDF forever now! haha... now I sound like an idiot. Cool that the meeting went well though, here's hoping they listen. Blizzard must be able to put some weight on those Adobe guys, right!
This is a really horrible case of douchebaggery and I would gladly kick everyone responsible for this in the nuts. The old square didn't print that much money, but damn I liked their games and themselves better. Sorry to all the grin guys. But then again, I guess at least something good has come out of this - Bram's at…
For several days now the Technical Talk -section has been plagued by spamming bots posting telephone numbers. This is similiar to the spam that has plagued the Blizzard forums in the past. PLEASE do SOMETHING about this - it's getting really frustrating for us users. If you don't have enough moderators then please consider…
