Please do something about the bot-spam

For several days now the Technical Talk -section has been plagued by spamming bots posting telephone numbers. This is similiar to the spam that has plagued the Blizzard forums in the past.

PLEASE do SOMETHING about this - it's getting really frustrating for us users. If you don't have enough moderators then please consider getting more of them!

If you're (polycount owners/admins) looking for volunteers I'm keen. Probably makes sense to have someone like me from a different timezone (GMT+10) so you've got all your bases covered, right? There had better be a secret and weird swearing in ceremony though, otherwise my opinion of polycount will be irreparably damaged.

But really, more mods would probably be a good thing, or perhaps just stricter joining rules (but I dislike solutions where everyone is punished for the actions of others).

I've been out of country all weekend. Usually Eric and I take care of Tech Talk. I just finished cleaning it up but they seem to be coming in rather fast.

Oh whoa, yeah there was one on the Polycount Tower page, just a few days ago. Same thing, with a huge list of telephone numbers. Glad it was removed, kind of random.

Did the posting in the welcome thread requirement get lifted? If so community-wise I think it better to have a couple confused new members who don't bother reading that can't post rather than an army of spam bots that can post at will.

Can't we have something like ... if a user get reported for spamming more than 10 times in 1-2 hrs, then BWAMMM. Insta-Ban(Temporary) or something ?
