Just picked up the same monitor a few weeks ago. For $550 it's great and offers a ton of on screen adjustments. Also. You'll never go back to 1080p after working with 1440p for a few days. The difference is incredible.
Thanks fellows. Iciban, check this out: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1515379&postcount=170 http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=88799 Pay special attention to Tyson Murphy's tutorials. He's the one.
There is a "max particle count" setting (in the emitter properties I think) that is set to 500 by default. If changing it doesn't work, there is a "skip spawn count check" in the particle system's properties which will disable all particle amount limitations.
Hehe Guess I'll toss mine in too. I just finished about 20 minutes ago. Yahoo! I wasn't sure if they meant 550-600 polygons or triangles. I went with triangles, but who knows.
If you don't know if it's important, then it's likely not important. Otherwise it would already have been discussed in gameplay etc. For random clutter like this you should go for at least half this polycount, probably under 500 even.
I was telling my SO about this cool song about In your eyes and such, wishing I could hear it, went to get a soda and it was on the 500 song countdowns right when I started my car. Wow!
Hey! Me and a friend (sup johny?!) have decided to make a couple of low poly heads for practice. This is my 3rd head texture and your feedback would be appreciated. -Polycount 500 tris -1 texture @ 256x256 Wires The early stages
This was done for the Stainless Steel Art test. 550-600 tri(mine just hit 600) model for a RTS, with a 512 texture map. Heres what i turned in. Kinda late for C&C, but thought i would share since this is just my 2nd post here.
Thanks Adam & Hboybowen! I wonder how a couple of large persistant cities and 500 + inhabitants would go in those maps.... still great to see those big wide open spaces, even if they are sparse.
Totally non game related but the grand prize winner's printed 3d model...is it life sized?! A: The print will be valued at $500. the size will depend on the object being printed, but it will not be life sized. under 1 ft definitely.
