7 1024s is just overkill in my opinion. You should reconsider using so many maps and try to go back over your UV's and bust it down to a couple 2048s or something like that. Tilieable textures would save you a ton of memory and show potential employers (if this is a portfolio piece) that you understand how to get the most…
Wanted to pop in for a small update: finally got the building modeled! Next up will be UVing everything, which shouldn't be too bad as I tried to keep pieces modular and symmetrical :)
A world builder friend of mine used it when building modular walls. He did it mainly because it was easy to manipulate the wall shapes etc and the UV mapping was somewhat automatic.
@ridley075 Thanks, i'm looking forward to finishing these up over the weekend and starting on some new props. Work my way up to some modular buildings and outdoor organic stuff.
This Wooden Village is fully modular and you can build hundreds variations of Houses... Still working on it, it should be walk-able inside hehe More screens at my Artstation https://www.artstation.com/artwork/aPQ18
Good morning everyone! I added more closeup screenshots and created a second building modular assets. I created some particles for the moody colors. Enjoy! CyberNeon Update #002!
The env break down, and showing your kit, is hugely helpful. Really cool to see how others approach building large hero assets like this in game, especially with modular bits.
Great look here so far! Keep thinking about how to break these buildings up into a modular set for more structure possibilities. Can't wait to see some textures in here
but that is a pain in the ass to work for when you want to work for example with modular building blocks - because in the end they will be placed intersecting at times into each other - will this cause also errors in those engines?
Hi there, my name is James and I'm the lead developer of Ivan's Secrets. The project has been slowly developing over many years (and an engine switch!) and we've got quite a bit of progress to show. Ivan's Secrets is a survival RPG set in the formed Aral Sea. The player will spend day time scavenging and building with…
