Hey polycounters! I just wanted to post up my WIP for a personal project I am doing to help improve my modeling, sculpting and Substance Painter skills. I got my inspiration from a concept art I found in the Blizzard Art book. Here is my WIP:
New character time. This started out as just quick worgen sculpt. But I really liked where it was going, so I'm continuing. Also I decided to jump Blizzard properties. Because, why not? Anyway. This is Alpha. The space wolf, bounty hunter, assassin, pirate... guy. Super rough armor concept.
It seems like this is such a broad category, I did not think it was so wide. Am I the only one? When I think of stylized I think of WoW, which of course is probably what Blizzard loves to hear. Anyone have examples of stylization being used in other games/art/etc.
I'm working from one of Blizzard's concepts for Mists of Pandaria to make modular buildings. Latest update: Old work: Concept: Blockout: Some WIP props to go along with it: WIP Textures: Current State in UDK: I'll post updates as I make progress. Crits and comments are greatly appreciated. :)
Hey there polycount. I wanted to share my Blizzard 2015 environment art contest entry. It is called Gorlock Grubs. Featuring authentic Gorlock Cuisine from Rainspeaker Canopy. The scene is built in Unreal Engine 4. Textures are 512x512 diffuse, save for the banner which is 512x256. Post Mortem feedback is welcome
Hello guys i'm new in this forum, my name is Marco :) I'm building my portfolio and i would like some suggestion about my axa based on a concept from "the art of Blizzard" i just change a couple of things maybe i need to sculpt more details Thanks guys!! :# :# :#
I'm agreeing with Jeffro here, that some things just don't match that well together, some textures are better than others and they just dont work that well. @Jeffro The Axe is a design from Blizzard itself so taking WoW ref is a bit litteraly taken.
Really brave task indeed Brad, nice to hear that your in the evergrowing Blizzard team. I really dig Hiroshi, simple but really stilistic. Kinda reminds me of Samurai Jack, the sharp corners and white, red, black look. Keep us updated on polycount!
http://pixelenemy.com/activision-ceo-bobby-kotick-made-64-9-million-in-2012-among-highest-paid-ceos-in-u-s/ at least for Activision Blizzard, you know where most of the money is going to. i wonder how the people working there feel about it.
Look up individual studios. I know that Ubisoft and Blizzard both have internship/student programs. I'm sure there are more; it's often listed on their site. Respectfully email some smaller studios, too, maybe. But short answer: Yes & you'd need a promising portfolio. ;)
