Female Head Bust
Here's my 2nd time sculpting in Zbrush, coming from Mudbox, with help from the Pixelogic website tutorial. I brushed up on my anatomy and I now have a better understanding of how to use dynamesh and masking brushes. Tell me your thoughts! -

I made this as tribute to a great show, Breaking Bad. If you are interested in the details, it's mostly dynamesh from a sphere, retopologized, uv-mapped, poly-painted and then I used fiber mesh for the facial hair. Two days of work. I hope you like it, and merry Christmas! -

I used to: Start sculpting on a highly subdivided sphere or go up in subdivs or too high resolution dynamesh in Zbrush. Now I: Start low and try to stay as low as possible until I'm satisfied and have clean shapes! -

Thanks for your reply Jakub, I will delete all this covers and post full body later. Main reason why I cover some parts is that legs, hands and head are splited and my pc is to wooden to make it dynameshed with hiresolution. -

If you're taking it to zbrush then the topology doesn't matter as you'll be using dynamesh/scuptris pro and sculpting the spiral. But if you want to model the topology traditionally then I'd create a spiral edgeloop around the detailing using extrude to cursor -as you're in Blender. -

Thanks for the reply. So if i understand correctly, i should just finish up the boulder/rock and then maybe append a few subtools, dynamesh them and sculpt them as blobs and chunks of earth sitting on my main Rock geometry? -

Yeah it's tricky ... And who knows, maybe it depends on the software. All that said you could always dynamesh everything together. There are some other highly specialized software available for that sort of stuff too but Zbrush will probably do a great job ! -

everything I saw you do in 3dcoat in the first video can be done with dynamesh inside of zbrush with no need to export huge OBJs or switch programs. Zbrush doesn't take that long to learn anyway. Haven't seen the rest yet. -

I'd argue your modeling questions are also relevant here. But in response to your other thread, just model it separately, and if you need to, merge it in a high res Dynamesh merge, bruh. I interpret the lines drawn in the concept as "separation."
