Hey There, i've finally finished the rigging/skinning part using human IK in maya. i did some poses and rendered it in marmoset. I'll try to find some time to make some animations of him later, but for now i call it done.
i rly enjoy that slardar weapon! plz do it! but i have to take ikes point for the alchi weapon. it doesnt matter if the shape and the colorsheme are different - the base idea is the same, and volvo wont add another same idea for like 99,99% :( greetz
The behavior of your rig (given the circumstances) is actually normal. What I can suggest is either reevaluate the weights or have a connection setting where when you move the chest, the shoulder also moves. Currently, shoulder stays put because of the IK.
You want to grab just the deformation joints and the meshes and do a export selection. You don't want to be exporting all of the controllers and extra IK/FK joints. But you would have a lot of other problems if your skeleton and mesh are separating like that...
It depends on what the arm/hand is going to be doing? You should probably just use regular bones and if you need to, maybe use some IK/FK but it really depends on the arm and the motions required. Is it gripping, crawling, clawing, being used as a weapon?
there is still a lot max used in games... character animation is more and more maya based cause of the better integration of human ik.... the link to motionbuilder... for modeling it doesnt matter that much which app you use... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vKkHHphGEY
Yeah it can suck that Unity is so reliant on plugins, then again some of the plugins have no equal in UE4 (haven't checked in awhile). Things like Final IK, Puppet Master, or any of the advanced ai assets like extreme ai or love/hate.
Hi guys, If anyone is interested in animation or looking for a good body mechanics rig then this might be of interest. https://gum.co/deerAnimRig It features low resolution mode for speedy playback, textures for nice playblasting and a lot of useful functions such as space switches on controllers and ik control in both…
A character I did a while back, from my own concept. I built him a rig, but never finished skinning and I noticed the Ik/Fk switch is now messed up. Really hope to finish it one day although I am mainly focused on creating environment art now.
Hi Guys, I'm getting into character rigging and was wondering if you have any good tutorials. Paid or free, as long as its the full process with IK/FK blending and other key details. I'm currently using Maya LT but most of the videos would apply to Maya as well hopefully. Thanks!
