Hey everyone, while working on Tims Kukri Tutorial, I recognzied that my smoothing groups (Hard Edges) are really messed up. I'm new to 3ds Max and have no idea how to fix this. Re: MODO - UV from Smoothing group
Should be, in a sort of round-about way, if you get the latest version of my kit (v2.5) I've added a "Convert to Hard Edges" button (middle, bottom row). Soo.... Run that, but make sure "Remove Smoothing Groups" is unchecked when it pops up to ask you, otherwise it'll remove all your smoothing groups after it's converted… -

Is it possible to smooth by smoothing groups with the Opensubdiv modifier in 3ds max. I know the third party Turbosmooth_Pro modifier has this option. Smoothing in Maya
Is it possible to smooth an entire model which has seperate parts at once? I've grouped my models parts into an organised hierarchy, selecting the root and then smoothing only smooths one object. Another crappy Maya issue or am I missing something? -
3ds max smoothing texture problem
hi, i got a eye obj (sclera) this is smoothed with smoothing groups. If i render that i got a round circle where the cornea bulg is for the iris. Polygon Smoothness
I've got this object in 3D Coat and it renders thusly there: and wires: but when I bring it into Toolbag (with all maps) it doesn't smooth correctly. There are serious smoothing artifacts. Is there a way to set the smoothing angle in Toolbag or is there some other way I can fix this? TIA.
