it's because maybe you have not enabled certain things in the exporter like 'keep vertex order' always make sure you have exported the correct subdivision level as well. when posting its best to mention which software you are using too :) though i guessed it was zbrushI generally use xnormal for baking anyway
Hey Eric! Thank you so much for your feedback! Please ignore the lightning, the photos are directly from the Substance Painter viewport, they are not renders. I agree it's flat right now. I want to render it in Marmoset. But I can try to make a bigger difference in roughness in the asset. I will check the example that you…
I love having AO as a map and have always baked it out individually. Using it in materials and combining it with diff gives the result a pop which you can also dial in to suit. If you can afford it why not use it?
I'm sure you guys have seen these around, but I thought it was fun. It's a online quiz to see if you can tell the difference between photos and 3d renders. I got 12 out of 12, bi**hes [Yes, first try]. What about you? http://area.autodesk.com/index.php/fakeorfoto/challenge/ You can click the images to enlarge them.
Let's say you model a head in Zbrush from a sphere. You put some time into it and it ends up turning out nicely. Now you want to give it a body. How would you go about slapping a body on this guy? Model the body as a separate subtool? If so how do you combine them without losing your detail? Any ideas?
Hi! We are a mobile game company looking for an artist to create the map of our upcoming game using City Designer/Campaign Cartographer (software will be provided for you if you don't have it). If you have an alternate software that you want to use that will get similar or better results, let us know and we'd be open for…
Hey the environment is looking nice so far. I think the biggest thing this needs is better lighting and atmosphere; it's pretty flat right now. Put your work side-by-side with Chris Noble's concept, and see if you can match the mood better. Adding a sun light source would help a lot. Also see how Chris added atmospheric…
That depends on how the triangles shade or if they create artifacts. Long thin triangles can be problematic for certain types of rendering. If you have even more edges in your circle then they become longer and thinner, so you might add a ring around the circle and gradually step the number of edges down as it radiates…
Every time a new tutorial video comes out, it kinda bothers me when I see multiple p&p posts of clones. So I felt compelled to write this. How to use a 3d tutorial. Lets be one-hundred percent blunt and brutally honest from the get go. No one hires someone because they can follow a tutorial. If you have portfolio full of…
Nice work Ben! No crits really to share. But if you had to make a second matching bed, like say for offspring or a relative, would you do anything differently?
