I solved the material missing by fixing the directory structure in my Qc file! also, I've found out a little trick for heroes like CK that are yet to get separate parts. If you edit the .VMT for the item you want to hide, you can put the command $alpha 0 and it will make that item invisible, this should work as long as…
So Valve never plays by their rules, but it is clearly stated: http://www.dota2.com/workshop/requirements "Please note that Dota 2 does not support double-sided materials; you will need to create geometry where a backside is needed."
It reminds me a lot of CK. Maybe a bit too much. I don't really get that OD feel from it at all. Maybe try to incorporate the crystal/rock material he is made off in the design and it would be better.
I managed to fix it. I created a new scene and carried over the mesh and materials. It seems that it may have been something I had done to the scene/transformers that may have screwed up the model. Thanks anyways!

D- Just upload to beta, then copy the item's model folder and material folders over to test. Then you can do you swapping as you do to see them in game :) Its a pain in the ass but what can you do?
Bind your objects to the bones that they should follow. Check the original skeleton for the names. Question: Since Dota only support 1 sided materials, how do you handle cloaks like Invoker's? Duplicate geo at the back side?
Try setting your matcap to default grey or something other than red wax,red wax is an awful material for showing off the sculpt as it doesn't give you the best display of your sculpt detail. No idea why it's the default.
