Here´s the final version of the lowpoly version of 'Fongoid Chief' creature from Creature Box. It´s all screengrabs from 3DMax viewport (shaded version is from ZB, of course). I´ve also uploaded a turntable (also a screengrab!) for those who like it! http://vimeo.com/15204819 Hope you like it!
dragon type creature done for the speed thread over at Ga inspired by the awesome hell creatures people have been pumping out...crazyfool, another tip of the hat:thumbup:... and by the epic skyrim trailer. Lacks a bit of polish 2 hrs about 10 mins. -Woog
I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something organic/creature with this guy. Just something to have fun with, I used a variety of reference from grubs to flies just to create something new and disgusting looking. Would love some feedback from the more experienced character/creature artists out there!
that is incredibly cool. im amazed at how clean the meshes are. I wonder if anyone will take the challenge of making one of these cartoony creatures and texturing it to make it look like a serious creature. Also can we get a shot of the uv maps, (for those of us without spore)
Thanks for the input I really appreciate it. Do you by chance have any examples for non-standard sea creatures? When I tried looking up your suggestion for creatures I ended up with a lot of things like crustaceans, the sea cucumber, hagfish, etc.
Daaaayum. these creatures are really nice! Also I dont mean to be a ass, but since the potato man is the main character, I feel like he should look really cool in terms of quality standards. right now the creatures/insects have set tht bar really high!
My name is Jeremy Williams. I am looking for somebody to model humanoid NPCs and creatures for a fantasy RPG. We have several other modelers, one of which is competant with creatures, but none of which are good at humanoids. We need somebody to fill the gap. Payment is a share of sales. This guy is from the Monster manual, a rule book contains creatures and monsters for the role playing game D+D, it's a Kobold as the name entails, a lizard man type creature about 3-4foot tall. I think the proportions are off, but I can't seem to figure out where and by how much. I would appreciate your views on this. BIGL
Awesome visual style you have going! Loving everything about it. For your latest creature, you could have the jump and hover (flying) form part of the spit attack, especially if the spit attack is particularly powerful. Because the creature forms a nice targettable silhouette when in the air.
Yeah, that part of the trailer bothered me. They did that in Star Wars Episode 1, and it actually made me kring (there's always a bigger fish). Is there something wrong with the danger of the first creature? We needed a bigger creature? Anyway, I won't let one crap scene kill a movie for me ;)
