My mind has literally gone to the concept of control-z for real life stuff, but i think it was drawing something on paper so its not that phenomenal i guess.
Thanks man, that was totally it! Once Z was the solution. All these years and I've never even opened the picker palette... Makes me wonder what else I've missed!

I want to create a short breakdown for Polycount how I created the trim sheets and approached the modular assets and foliage. If you want to watch a video, I created a video breakdown for Stylized Station. Under the video, I…
maybe, but it's all still NDL stuff. We'll see. I'll probably do some stuff on my onw, simply because I love Z-Brush so. Love it and want to marry it. duh! :-) :-) Scott
Use the standard brush with lazy mouse , less z intensity, also you can play with the focal shift the higher the better and maybe use some inflate balloon with masking
Tacom, this keeps getting better! Look forward to seeing your breakdown-- on how you went about creating the under part of the suit. What version of Z are you using?
only thing i can think of is creating some planes in max along the x/y/z axis and importing them as a subtool, making them visible/invisible as needed.
Try increasing the Z intensity to 100 and set it to MRGB instead of just RGB and try to grabdoc after that. If that doesn't work, use Zapplink and then go into the alpha channel, heightmap should be there.
