Thanks ;) the texture is pretty big for this one 1024 x 1024, I think as a test it's ok what would you recommend doing it at? 512 x 512? 891 tris, pretty sure I could get it down a bit especially on those thorns.
The first thing I would try is going to the view tab and checking "Invert Y" and hitting apply. Marmoset use X+Y+Z+ for its normal maps and applications like Max use X+Y-Z+, so it could be a simple fix :)
Hey all In Maya there is a command that will move whatever you currently have selected to the center of the grid, by typing in move -x 0 (for the X axis, otherwise you use -y or -z) What I want to know is if there is a similar command for 3ds Max (specifically 3ds max design 2k11). Help?
Hey guys, In zBrush I'm trying to get a symmetry on the X axis on a basic box, but not in mirroir, I want it to do a reverse mirroir. I can get a similar thing with x+z but I want it to work in diagonal...Like so Any way of doing this?...Thanks
Everyone keeps saying that they hear x is better and faster than x but I rarely ever see any in depth talks/arguments. I'm definitely going to check this thread often. I too was thinking of making the switch to Modo.
Its a fun idea, Im not sure where the $5k mark comes from, if each of you find you need $700 per month that comes to 700 x 4 people x 6 months = $16800 . Just sayin.
Would not recommend changing scale in Maya. Tools break for instance (couple of curve tools but can't remember which ones actually). Just stick with cm or if you are working alone just pretend 1cm = 1 'x' unit where x = insert unit here.
Hey Jerc, is there a grace period for those who redeemed a full version of SD 5.X in the past month ? Asking because i just receive an email thanking me for my purchase of SD 6.x without knowing is was out until receiving that email...
GDC is actually a conference for developers. From what I understand, E3 and PAX are marketing expos meant for press moreso than devs. So unless you want to learn about X new game or X new console, GDC will be your better bet.
While I agree with almost everything Nerf Bat Ninja said above me, I kinda disagree with his first point (intro). I would maybe not write stuff like "I am a big fan! I think Telltale is mega great!" (especially exclamation marks, I only use them in rare cases in cover letters). The thing is, I might be wrong to generalize…
