Quick update... Just made the script compatible for Maya 2010, 2011, and 2012. Note: 2010 is significantly slower, but it still works. Dup Curve 1.0 -

Alternatively, use the Deformation panel to resize your model up by 100 a few times, dynamesh, and resize back down by -100 the same amount if you want extra detail. -

Eric, what brush did you use exactly? Using the brushes with 100% hardness look way to messed up, so you must have used a near to 100 pressure. -
