Hi polycounters, I'm usually a GA poster, but I've been lurking here for years, I've probably made some shit threads here over the years.
Anyway, trying to motivate myself to keep a semi constant stream of 3d flowing so I don't drift off and not do enough work too often. So come on in and take a look.
To kick it off here's a model of captain America I made for GA's Comicon competition last year. I missed the deadline when he was mostly finished and I lost the will to do the final few stages once I knew it was too late to enter. So I finally finished that, and I'm working on some likeness and anatomy sculpts I'll hopefully post up shortly
Here's a bunch of renders:
Let me know what you think, all crits are welcome no matter how harsh, I really want my next character to be a big improvement so any improvements you suggest is very handy

Also if I may ask, how did you render this one?
@koufuyo, I don't think I understand your first question. Render wise, there's no settings, it's just max's default scanline settings.

@Seth: Yea i'm pretty sure her head is way too big as are her hands! you live and learn, i might do another female study sometime soon, my female anatomy is kinda sucky

Anyway, here's a likeness sculpt i did, the likeness is pretty damn shitty, but it's good facial practice. If you think it doesn't look like him now, you shoulda seen my first attempt, maybe i'll post it up later. Tell me who you think it is!
EDIT: man i showed this to my friend and he had no idea who it was, i'm so ashamed lol. might look into making it less horrible but i might just scrap it instead...

and yodude87, yea at least someone can guess it lol. your prize is in the mail, though i don't think your gunna like it...

gunna reduce the veins in his arms, gotta rework the head, and some other changes. crits would really be appreciated
EDIT: had to reupload it because it got removed from imageshack for violation of services. Someone obviously got offended by the slight specular shimmer of a pretend man's shaft...
