I don't want to poop on your parade because we can always use more tools like this, but HCG Browser is now free and its pretty awesome. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/hcg-asset-browser-pro
I enjoyed it a lot. I thought that the first 30ish minutes was some of the best well done scripted game stuff I have seen. It feel off a little bit at the end, but I loved the part when Alyx got the shotgun!
Hey, nice one rollin, I didn't know you did scripting too - impressive :) I don't mod EAW myself (although I do own the game - haven't played in years), but it's cool that you've put together this package.
Tech artists always seem to be in demand, and more secure position. I have a friend in that position that survived the Mass of EA layoffs awhile back. Although he was gearing for a modeling position (with a previous history in scripting), that quickly turned into a TA position.
Hello people, long time no see! I was quite busy working on a lot of (different) things. Here's my last character :) And I made this inorder to be able to work more on this: http://imogia.deviantart.com/art/Stelligrid-Dialog-boxes-script-128976290
Which is why some people run scripts to replace any EULA.txt file with a blank text file :P Or just get the neighbour's kid to click the button :P -edit- Man, KDR...you beat me to my own punchline
Current thinking was to use this script, Rigging Army Knife v1.8 , to convert the biped bones into standard max bones and then use the new .xaf Load/Save to bring the animation across. No luck so far. I'll look into the FBX stuff, thanks.
I think if they can pull it all together it could be pretty ok, but people are right it's no max payne; it'll probably feel more like it when they get the script together and a voice to monologue everything. But it's a ways away, so there's always hope.
[sorry for the derailing] While we're on it, is there some "normalmapping" tool that allows you to do a normalmap-like render but with a lit model instead of normal vectors? (for those who care, I got a set of scripts to do my vertex baking for Blender)
You shouldn't need a script unless you want to add complexity like get the last tool etc. Theres a press and release. Just set the press to the track tool and the release to something like the select tool or move.
