Been following a tutorial on digital tutors on how to use 3dsmax. Im only on the first course and I've encountered a problem I've no idea how to fix. When I apply my texture I made in PS onto my model, it becomes blurry with very low quality. I followed the instructions perfectly but mine turns out different. Can anyone…
Thanks! I'm sorry to bring this one up again, I haven't had time to work much more on it so far. I've been really busy finishing up a big ass tutorial page. I'm working hard on a material tutorial that will cover everything from rough rock materials to smooth/reflective metal surfaces. It's going to be a material tutorial…
Day 83/360: Today, I started watching a tutorial on how to model a gun, just to learn different techniques. I chose one of the tutorials from this helpful site that has a collection of tutorials. https://stylizedstation.com/article/blender-tutorial-bible/
These tutorials really enlightened me for uv unwrapping... Tutorial onehttp://cg.tutsplus.com/tutorials/autodesk-3d-studio-max/an-introduction-to-uvmapping-in-3d-studio-max-using-the-unwrap-uvw-modifier-part-2/?search_index=5 Tutorial two…
When you are going to sleep, wear headphones (but don't fall asleep with them still on - just lay down somewhat early and be ready to take them off when your eyes start to itch with sleep), and watch video tutorials. You only have to look at the screen when someone you don't get is being said. In other words, watch and…
The name of the file shouldn't matter. OP, can you have a look at these tutorials http://catlikecoding.com/unity/tutorials/ in particular, if you understood the first clock tutorial you should easily be able to do what you are asking. Just do the catlike coding tutorials above and then look at this rogue like tutorial.…
Everyone here has excellent suggestions and feed back. I have been suggesting this to various people here on Polycount so below is a copy and paste. If you follow this tutorial it will teach you a great deal about modeling and UV mapping. I would start a new project and follow a correct pipeline. I suggest following this…
i studied Industrial Design in the States 10 years ago and learnt a bit of FormZ and was utterly put off the whole 3d modelling thing - then came back to the UK and worked in theatre for 7 years. Just started getting into 3d Max in the last 6 months, following online, tutorials, a couple of Gnomon and Digital Tutors DVDs.…
Check out my tutorials page for some other ideas that may help http://chrisholden.net/tutor/ Particularly "Texturing Sinlge Page Vs. Multiple Materials" and "Normal Mapped Environment". These may not specificly answer your question, but both cover general UVs and tiling textures. I've been meaning to put something together…
Two reasons: 1. Long thin triangles create rendering problems, they should be avoided at all costs. 2. Building textures are usually packed into a texture sheet, so the sections in A are needed to section off the UVs. See Chris' tut here. http://chrisholden.net/tutor/max_tiling04.jpg More tuts and info here, including…
