60 people 'let go' at EA LA today. Many of whom pretty much gave up their summer working insanely hard on several projects. I know I was there. So, I'll reiterate to Tubboy and anyone else not getting this: Working tons of OT does not pay off, nor does it exemplify you from redundancy.

I'm at about 60 frames right now but the script isnt done. Im wondering if i should continue or just leave it at that
So far from what gameplay i've seen the card is pretty much useless if you already have a 560-ti+ on a SINGLE monitor. Most fps gains are about 40 but theyre well above 60 so it isn't a HUGE visual difference, you just wont hit rock bottom on your min fps.
Do you see result in realtime? Yes. How is it made is not important. Converting render effect to 3d mesh is one time 30 sec wait = no big deal. For me It`s like having a stable 60 fps in game with load times about 30 sec VS having 15 fps with instant load time :)
The model looks good, but the label is really simple. I know minimalistic and stuff, but it looks very unusual, and thats something you should avoid. Also the text is too small. The informative text part part is even smaller. The metal would be a bunch brighter If I recall correctly , it has too much of that 60% grey
Bah, don't got me started on wireless n. Just threw £60 on a wireless n USB adaptor, to go with my newly acquired wireless n router, thinking it'll be 10x better then my £10 wireless g PCI card that i've got at the mo, turns out it's about 10x shitter. Returning it tomorrow.
Open to notepad, and type in: SetValue "*.geomapprox.gapproxmoan", 0 Save it as something like ''flat_shading.vbs" Make another one that says only:SetValue "*.geomapprox.gapproxmoan", 60 Save it as something like "restore_shading.vbs" Switch to the Palette and Script Toolbar (the paint-palette icon on the lower left), then…
More blockouts A little bit more work later, I have a pretty much finished blockout. Looking about 60-70 assets in the scene, so plenty work to keep me busy here. Production shall be starting in earnest next week so long as I've not missed anything in my pre-production.
@battlecow That comes out to about $60 per hour, which is stupidly high for a beginning freelancer. From my previous research on the topic, what seems like a pretty standard rate is $30 per hour, which imo is quite good if you have regular work. Of course everything is variable depending on your cost of living.
Update. Trying to finish this character in time for GDC on Friday! here's my progress I've made since my last update: * Finished modeling and sculpting. * normal maps are 95% complete * body diffuse is 90% complete * Armor Diffuse is 60% complete I'm using Unity 3d 3.5 to render and test my textures
