ok... lets simplify this so you can start to understand the workflow... 1. Make your low poly a cube. That is it. 6 sides... 2. Unwrap it... Flatten all... Should make it nice and quickly 3. Bake your high to this and see the results.... You are getting bake errors, smooth errors, uv errors from not unwrapping, etc. -

Maya - Cant fix faces with zero map area
Hi everyone. So i've come across an issue using maya that is pretty weird to me. I unwrapped a model manually, and then did a mesh check to see if there is any erros before exporting. Well my 3 ideas didn't work. 1. setting the faces you didn't want distorted to have custom normals. Results had projection errors. 2. Same as 1. but averaged the cage. If you can get a copy/paste of any error messages you're getting in your log, I'd be happy to check it out. Typically whenever I had this problem, it was because there was an error somewhere in the mesh, so the renderer is just flat out ignoring the model all together.
