just to add something about unit scale- if you're working with physics, some physics engines seem to prefer certain unit types, so check that out too. I remember at work we switched from cm to meter because of this (i guess its because the numbers were smaller it's dealing with? numbers get pretty big fast using cm) -
Question about the Max polycounter
I have an object in my scene, when activated the polycounter under "count polygons" i get 837 But when i activate the "count triangles" it goes up to 1430, and i have about 4 visible triangles on my object What is the best way to know the exact number of "faces" in Max ? i don't really care if its tris or polyquads but… -

When I loaded this file yesterday it was supposed to fix an error in Max 2009 and older... but in reality I loaded it with the wrong version number to check against. Yes but QA is normally outsourced and/or comprised of people that are highly disconnected from the project itself. Any number of bugs could be missed for any number of reasons when things are done like that. Yeah, Id hate to end up in limbo because the ear needs to be lower or the hair is too dark, ect. ect. So that brings up another question, what is a good number for x number of concepts/redesigns? The fact that there are the most studios in Vancouver is what makes it hard. Because there's also the most talent (just look at how many PC'ers are here), they can fill any spots easily. And after the huge cutbacks there's been a big disparity between the number of positions and the number of people looking for work... Us… -
