Looking for a character designer for a game I'm working on. The genre is modern day sci-fi. Must be able to view and listen to screenshares via Discord/Skype/Hangouts/Other. Nice to haves: - Influence from Japanese animation - Experience designing mechanized humanoids Please email me with your portfolio and your preferred…
Hello! I am currently modelling a typical japanese Torii, and I don't know how to approach the column part highlighted in the Figure 1 to achieve the concept appearance (Figure 2). Critiques of the sculpt would be very helpful! Figure 1 Figure 2: concept made by Mikita Kavalenka, you can see all his work in his Artstation…
Looking good man! And what a coincidence, just read your reply on my post and had a pick at your stuff and found this guy, I was just colecting references on japanese kappas because I'm starting one for a project eheh I promise I wont steal the nose ring idea (which is pretty cool :) )
! @Muzz haha! its an entry test for Gameloft, hopefully maybe my first job, .. they made me do it XD!!, too much on sculpting maybe, for the spec. I dont know how to go strait on lowpoly like those genius pixel art japanese kids on the internet.. I rely alot on AO and normals XD
Not really a talk, but it's still quite amazing. Here's Koji Igarashi at Double Fine playing and talking about Castlevania Symphony of The Night. It might be a bit tough to just listen to in the background, since a lot of it is being translated from Japanese, but it's still a fascinating video with plenty of cool trivia.…

Some manufacturers also have instructions available for download on their site (Revell, for instance, has theirs at http://www.revell.com/support/instructions.html). Searching for…
Thanks KatArt! But he's not a chicken, he's a tengu, a mythical Japanese bird creature :D Thought I would post a shot of the rig as well. I'll be moving on to animations soon. Quick question, is there a minimum/maximum number of frames an animation has to be? It looks like the spawn should be no more than 30 but what about…
Not in school anymore. I took 1 class in 3d modelling, and that's pretty much it. Just enough to get me interested, and some basic poly pulling stuff. I learn all the rest from online. My drawing skill comes from self-studying Japanese manga... which isn't a good source for anatomy. T_T
I'm still waiting for the day when either of the two dev teams grow a pair and gives us a COD game with an engrossing story featuring WW2 from the German/Italian/Japanese point of view. Given that it took 6 COD games before we finally got blood and dismemberment, I won't be holding my breath.
