So i have been super lazy in posting in my sketchbook thread so here is a mock-up i made in unreal for just to showcase the sword and shield i made for aderyn's cradle a game project i am working on.
:D What a nice character :D I agree with SanderDL, a face would be really interestig. Furtermore I could imagine that he use a shield for advertisement. Example: Keep it up! can't wait top see your progress :D
Agreed on the post process, A tad bit more of indirect light bouncing may go down well also. Is there any plans on expanding the scene e.g. adding walls, window/sci-fi airlock shielding to be able to see space etc.
Thank you grabbity. Regarding the place where David Darrell, just transported, shields his eyes from etc...I thought of using 8+ point lights and glowing material. I didn't think of lens flare, it's a good idea :)
looks great V! My only crit would be that you could have saved 4 more polygons on the shield by deleting the corners, scaling up the middle diamond and rotating the UV's. These characters your doing are really looking great. - BoBo

you need to look at reference for your cracks, they are seemingly at random and look drawn on. you need to sculpt cracks in a way that might actually happen, the 'x' crack above the door way seems particularly unlikely to form. can see this looking nice with all those shields glhf
I'll start by posting my first steps, everything is WIP of course As you can see, this is my version of Braum's ultimate, ( Braum break the game ) I'm going to change the trail effect on the shield, add an anticipation, tweak the whole FX, add the impact and slow effect on the target ...
