Cheers man. At the moment most of the model is symmetrical to make it easier to work. Plan to make different axes hand wraps and boots. Want to make it really representative to the concept as it rocks.
I'm not talking about specular...it just feels extremely dull and soft. I think maybe the UVs needed to be split with a hard edge in the lowpoly to bake a bit sharper on the axe.
Damn...seriously? I cant remember that. I know theres been some pretty brutal bauer kills. The axe to the chest this season was f'kin awesome! I'll have to go back and find that decap you're talking about
Welcome to the party :D . About the set ,maybe a bit to mechanical for my taste ,knowing that Axe is a brute. The texture on the head item and the shoulder i think could've been a bit more detailed, because compared with the weapon they looks flat.
I agree barri. I tried to make the ends like in the picture below look like they had been axed. Might have to go back in zbrush and rough them up a bit more. Logs in UDK: Zack Dembinski

Are you baking with Max? You need to be careful with the cage to prevent distortions like that. Instead of just pushing, select the cage verts and scale them so the cage barely moves along the axis it's distorting on but has plenty of space on the axes it's not.
Hey guys, sorry for the stupid question i'm a noob with uvs in blender. With maya there is an option to space/relax a selection of uvs horizontaly or verticaly or even both in once. Can we do it with textool ? Iron face relax both axes right ?
Yeah, I think a lot of the problem is alleviated when you realise your wrist itself can only rotate on two axes, and that for the third one (the one that appears to be causing your twist) your entire forearm/radius rotates.
i've done a lot of non-biped rig animation, and i've found that even if the axes dont lock perfectly, sometimes the rotation path may be compromised and the object does a weird flip where it shouldnt during a simple rotating animation.
