Does this shader work in Max 2008? I get a script window and "-Type error: set property requires BitMap, got: undefined" message each time I try to use a texture file.
yeees, come join us. we dont have cookies, but modo has this weird thing that when it updates, the new version isnt worse then the one before. hashtag 2008-max best max.
@ZacD @Spwee Thx for your suggestion. I am now using a combination of metallic 0.8 + roughness 0.7; these values feel wrong to me intuitively but somehow I think it looks better in engine:

Thanks for the tips, I've bookmarked this page for when I come to set up a website. Is it a good idea to have galleries of different years to organize it a bit? EG. 2007 Work - 2008 work - ect.
I've noticed some odd things w/ max 2008 and the reset xform. It will sometimes flip my normals and mess up my verts. Collapsing the stack usually helps and welding verts. -Tyler
i think i might have figured how to do selection with visual basic. now i just need to work around these VB 2008 incompatibility issues.. hrm. DAMN YOU MICROSOFT!
