uniform scaling: hold ctrl, you can also hold alt to scale from the center rotation snapping: yes, it respects Max's angle snap toggle moving in a specified axis: hold shift you can also move the center point and rotate and scale in respect to it's location. -

Thinking about this more I definitely think it's fake. Valve is a very respected company and I'm guessing that's mostly because most of the employees are respectable people. I doubt one of them would start taking shots at multiple other Valve employees publicly like this, even if anonymous. -

For the purpose of concept work under strict deadlines, I think it's fine, mostly because it's just for the idea, not the final visual piece. If its for the final painting presented as art, Ive never respected the use of photo paintovers, especially when the artist is garnering respect and admiration for it. Its blah. It's… -
