So, I made a quick paintover to illustrate what I mean. Please don't judge my awful painting skills, but what I meant by to remove so much noise in the visual design. I still think this is too busy, but I only had few mins while at work :(
Greetings Aleksei. I have to say.. I've always loved your style at ninjas and when I saw this thread open, I knew what to expect. The new Shen looks damn good. Are you planning on doing the illustration with the "corrupted" Shen? If so.. I bet it's going to look amazing...
Hell yeah man I love what you've done so far, this is looking sick. Really like the new direction you took it. A little colored spec in your material helps illustrate how the shading really is on curved parts while working on those highpoly models. Keep it up!
hm? Did i miss something aha? Also I'm pretty sure its the book depository works through Amazon too. Just happened upon the art section and the monster hunter illustration work is only £21. Last time I saw it, it topped out at £50, an it was jpn text...
Ron Lemen on Light and Dark: http://www.anticz.com/drawing1.htm (Found this throught the polycount wiki, actually...) Also, for those who want to brush up the traditional side: illustrator Jeff Miracola as some good stuff on youtube about acrylic and oil painting: https://www.youtube.com/user/jeffmiracola/videos
im gonna at least try. i was looking at it and was thinking of all the ways i could make custom alphas in illustrator and bring into zbrush as alphas. was think of the castle courtyard and seeing i can make some modular pieces i meaj the one window arch repeats like 17 times.
:P I think its still nice he's giving an example (it does illustrate his point). Maybe add on to it EQ? I'm sure you have a good example of how to setup both smoothing groups + uv setup so that you'll get some good results from the bake.
I feel like skins that have amazing illustrations on it look great from the side but look pretty terrible from the first person view wich is the most important in my opinion. Its like a Lamborghini with terrible interior, looks great when you look at it but is ugly when you get in it.
I really appreciate it man, the advice is is much needed, especially the harder crits. But did you confuse me with gilesRuscoe lol? But Really though I appreciate the critique, I'll define the muscles and the forms in the model, and I have an illustration class this semester so I will be practicing my 2d more!
Thanks BagelHero Also I have to mention that I only will use the tablet for Texturing, Sculpting and maybe some modeling. I'm not doing any illustrations. That already helped a lot. Anyone here who has a Cintiq 22HD or 24HD who can tell a bit how they experienced those things?
