I could ask the same about unreal engine 2.5 -> 3.0, did it really warrant a new engine? I mean, people often mistake bioshock for an unreal engine 3 title. When we do see unreal engine 4, we will see what it will be all about.
in engine just means it's in a game engine, not some other pre-rendered software. It also doesn't mean it was running at 30-60fps to create the video. The PS4 doesn't have it's own game engine.
