Hellllllo, I'm going to do my best to get some kick ass weapons made for this contest. I'm going to attempt to create a weapon set of axes - Titan Axe Set. 3 axes in total; double axe, dane axe and a halberd. Maybe even a hatchet if I have enough time. As per the rules i'll be keeping separate wip threads per weapon.…
Hey man, it sounds like you're asking for feedback on how closely you stuck to your reference? If that's the case then I'd say that the handle looks like a different kind of wood based on the pattern of the grain. And the blade looks like a different material based on how dark the metal is in the reference. Excluded are…
Hey, For the next personal project I'm going to make a God of War Axe in 100% Substance Designer. I was inspired by projects were everything is done in Designer. I like the idea of creating a model with a height map. The goal is to learn more about Designer and I'm curious to see what challenges I will face. Of course this…
Hi, I have created an axe model which is inspired from Connan the Barbarian movie. I have created high poly, low poly and unwrapped it. I am creating it as a game asset. I just want to make sure that the UVW map i have created of the axe is okay or not. While unwrapping i have unwrapped it in two parts the blade part and…
Here's the weapon for the game prototype I am currently working on. There's a little story behind it as the bunny is balls out in love with his axe, where as the skull is the remains of the game developer of the bunny's world (taken down by the main villain) Now all that remains of him is the skull and he has to convince…
The winner for the Darksiders II Contest Axe category has just been announced! Congratulations to Hristo Rusanov for his amazing Axe entry. Big props to Michael Vicente and Joel Tansley for their runner-up entries and congratulations to everyone else that had submitted a final axe entry for the Darksiders II Contest. The…
Its a pretty good first pass. Here's my two cents: - The detail, between the blades, is really noisy. Its hard to make out what any of it is. - The texture of the who axes reads more like stone than metal. The spec doesn't have very much contrast. Metal should have nice high contract to make scratches, dings, and knicks…
I agree with what has been said above. Also, is that wood you have on the part holding the axe blades? If so, I'd get rid of that. If it's a molten axe, then the wood would just burn off. As for the Rock parts, right now i get the feeling that it's some sort of sci-fi axe because it looks like metal and the blade looks…
