Hi everyone, as the title describes I'm inexperienced with hand painted styled textures but it is something that I would like to learn.I make this topic in order to keep myself on track while taking critiques and advice from people who know what is going on with hand painted stuff.I'll try to update as much as…
Hello! I am trying to work on hand-painted texture for a character. I'd like it to be somewhat WoW-like stylized, but partially it looks like childrens' painting :) I am mostly doing modelling and sculpting, but trying to learn how to do "old school" textures. I painted values first and then overpainted colors. The…
I am looking into getting a 3D app that does excellent job at offering wide variety of tools to an artist for painting textures directly on 3D models (low- to med- polycount, UV mapped models). I am specifically looking for an app that allows using curves over 3D model and painting strokes using curves as guides. Nice…
Hey I have a fairly noob question so bare with me :poly122: I've been doing a lot of research and am finding not a lot of information on the matter, from what I understand there are two ways to paint terrain. You can create a layered terrain material and paint within the landscape tab or there is the paint tab which you…
I think a paint job like that would go better with more of a CSGO style knife, something more aggressive and military looking. My main issue with the graphic is that the red part looks painted, but the Pacman graphic doesn't look like it's hand painted on, or a sticker, or part of some vinyl wrap, it looks like it was…
disanski: Good question man. Basically yeah the model has to be watertight. I always think of it like drilling a hole in the top of the model and filling it with water, if water is going to leak out anywhere, you need to plug those spaces. It doesnt have to be all one mesh, but I generally make her into a few subtools. For…
I know the program Paint Shop Pro (v7) well well, unlike Photoshop which I find differs so much. My trouble is that I have a Wacom Tablet which draws really well under PS7 but not Paint Shop Pro, it's a sensitivity issue. PS responds with the lightest of touches but in Paint Shop Pro it responds in a sensitive manner but…
Tons better. Get comfortable getting dark, because it provides contrast to what is in the light. Think of it as "It's not obvious until you make it REALLY obvious." Now get real reference of actual male human bodies (preferrably figure drawing models) and proportionally place where your muscle groups should be. What would…
Mari shows you what you paint as it will appear on the target you're painting to. Basically in the case, the detail you're painting is smaller than a pixel of the layer/paint noode you're paintingtto. If you want more detail, you'll need to increase the resolution of the layer/paint node.
