So, what's in the game ? or going to be in the game ? I grew up with Wing Commander IV. While the flying missions was fun, I also like the stuff I can do in Privateer 2. I could hunt bounty, hire escort, do some trading, and stuff.
Played a game of SC last night. Shuttle dropping Zealots into peons is pure fun. Had this as my background for awhile back when it was released and its still bad ass. In fact I think I'll put back on my background again. Great work Neox!
I feel the same way, which is why I answered with something ridiculous. It's not terribly productive pondering the "what ifs" though it can be fun. Honestly I think the serious answers are just too obvious anyway. Pay off loans, buy a place, etc etc.
I have never had this much fun with a project and thanks again guys for all the feedback! Took everyone's advice and cut it down again. I need to let the normal map do more work and rely on the geo less! Down to 5k tris from 7k
Wow, lots of really great stuff! The monster attack moves at the beginning were my favourite anims. I agree with Stromberg90, that girl and monster were lots of fun! My only crit is what the others have already said--make it shorter! Otherwise, a pleasure to watch. :)
Zyniph - You should try moving geometry around manually, its fun :P But in all seriousness, rigging is obviously what you need to do. It's not that difficult if your willing to learn, and it can breathe a lot of life into your models. Looking forward to your next update :)
i think i might actually have a copy of this at my dads.... If i find it ill send you an email. :). I didnt really enjoy it much as a kid, as i was a rts fanatic but it was still a fun game and had some badass designs like you say.
vehicle choice could drastic change a weapons effectiveness, ie single shot powerfull weapon would be shit in a car with hard suspension. while a really powerfull weapon in a small light vehicle could have some really rockin kickback. sounds fun if it was propperly dynamic
kolby - ah shit man, didn't even cross my mind! V, Kenneth, Corrine, I had some fun with @ the needle and the others were at the dinner! Feeeck, horrible memory I have. Really enjoyed putting faces to names and finally meeting some people.
for low poly projection painting most people use either bodypaint, or 3Dcoat. I like the interface and controlls of 3dcoat but i like how bodypaint works pretty much exactly like photoshop. give em a try, it can be so fun to paint directly on the model.
