You don't need 1100watt, seriously. Bigger numbers are not better when it comes to PSU's. I run 4 HD's and a GTX280 that requires two power connectors off "just" 550w, but I made sure it's a decent brand (Seasonic). Just get something like 650w or so. -

In Connecticut it is illegal to use a cell phone while driving unless you use a hands free device. Unfortunately it is a very lax law based upon quotes from law enforcement. Try not to buy the first edition of the Phenoms if you're staying with the AMD CPU. I suggest the X6 or the Monster i7, if you like intel, nothing beats the i7 I think. Got my monitor back in 3 days. The guy said the VGA port will be wonky forever. DVI is working again. I guess it got a little too shaken up and pulled on those connectors. I did not test the other ports. I just need to see stuff. I'm on my own comp now. Happy as a clam. Now to start taking pictures. -

The turbo button should provide a plug that fits on the power button connector. If it's really your power button that should do it. -

well, polycount means barely nothing anyway. Same model with different uvs, bones influences, texture size could be very efficient or very heavy. There's so much more constrains than polycount, rules are much more complex than "make character 1000K" some are: hard edges double the vertex count on the seam uvs border double… -

mmm back in the days, there was a tool called connectpolyshape that was doing all that stuff without a line of code...(mirroring, adding cage on top of the high, showing/hiding high, etc) does that still exist ? isn't the maya smoothproxy tool or something doing that too now ?
