Lookin noice. Have you tried bringing the head up into the center of the helmet yet? It might look disproportionate, but I reckon it's worth a shot. The hair really looks rough as well. Yeah, the spine could just be a cylinder. Even just a 5-6 sided one. You can take out some of the sides on the cylinders you used for the pipes (there's also a bunch of divisions along the lengths of them that don't need to be there), and add more sides to the wheels.
