I like this idea. Also maybe a reset button on the movement, and rotation transform; so we don't have to type "0.0" in each box, for each object to reset the transformation.
It's actually completely *predictable*. If you have a tool selected other than a transformation tool, just click back to a transformation tool to be able to right click select UV's again.

The mirror modifier or pretty much any other method of mirroring works in local space. It seems like your object's transform is rotated. You have to it CTRL+A and apply the transform.
Yes, you will not get the same transform behaviour in Maya as you get in Blender. Blender's transform system is completely unique and cannot be replicated in Maya/Max. It's a non-destructive live process.

PSD Path Unwrapper is awesome but I had to make a small action to turn off and on the Paths cause when ever i try to transform or something it would try and transform the path.

try to transform from local to world, this has worked for me. It only has been accessible in UDK's vertex shaders as of recent though, older builds didn't let you transform.
