Hello there, I'm Jai! I'm working on an indie game called Bindstone and I'm struggling with something hopefully I can get some feedback or tips and suggestions on. I've done a few practice stones based on the tutorials here: https://gumroad.com/sephirothart and they've come out good. I'm having trouble applying it in a…
Thanks guys! In fact I plan to remake the texture for the wall with more regular stone. Then a mask/blend will add some varation with dirt effect. I will add to piece of wall like if wall have been made in stone with lime plaster and that surfacing felt here and there. I have to make some test also with the wooden plank on…
The well is overgrown with vines and really broken down, but the stone path is pretty clear. I would put some plants between the path stones and maybe drop some twigs on them here and there. I also think you should run the stones through ZBrush for a damage pass, and make the bevels bigger. Right now they're taking up a…
Done a bit more on the environment now. Built the pool, making it look more Italian than Hollywood, and made the path that runs around the pool. Next I'm going to start working on the house I think. Made a few more materials like the stone floor, the pool tiles and the stones for the rim of the pool. Not sure I like the…
Great work on the castle! I love the whimsical approach, it's working very well :) The swirling clouds fit perfectly! One thing I noticed (and it wasn't immediate, mind you) is that the castle walls appear to be solid stone? Oooorr on second thought I suppose they could be plastered over stones? The coloring is fairly…
this sculpt looks pretty nice, I suggest looking around for similar ref to find ideas, Orbs work is fairly similar maybe you can find some inspiration there. the stone with the skulls attached look a bit too rounded in some areas and the wear looks uniform, try adding some loose/chipped stones and noise when you do a…
good start oobersli. Yeah it looks a bit stretchy at the front. That stone is really long at the bottom and has a weird kink at the end. Try to work more with the stones, and map the top surface properly so it matches the stones around the well too. Another little idea, try adding some detail for the end of each roof tile…
So im in a project which I need to build the lighting by selected objects instead of the whole scene at once, the thing is when I do this the lighting reacts as it shouldn't. If i build them separatelly: this is by building both at the same time (and as it should do): How could I fix this?
It might be more time efficient to combine modules with simple unique meshes that use tiling materials. The modules library can still be expanded when you identify repeating parts during the process and unique geometry replaced with the new modules. If you don't do this already, I think it's good to have a blockout in…
Really fun asset here. I really like the forms. I think the colors for each surface are rather monochromatic and lack some subtle light bounce from the neighboring objects. You've got it from the furnace areas but missed it in the metal near the stones. Pushing your highlights on the metal also will help separate them…
