I'm not terribly far along, but I wanted to get an idea of whether I was doing things right. Is it typical to have lots of separate elements? Is it better to be one connected element? is there going to be a style guide at some point?) How are the following elements going to be decided: Texturing (hand painted simplified, hand painted high detail or partly/heavily photosourced, etc.) how about proportions exaggeration amount and type of exaggeration Saturation ammount and other style elements :)
It's cool to have floating pieces that make it look like a magical element is holding it together but overall it's disconnected way too much. I tried to incorporate and fuse elements from traditional swords with elements from rifles and pistols of today. Checkout more images and the 3D viewer here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/KZXKr
thank you guys!! today I made an underpainting and at the same time seperate the figure from the background. then i seperated the figure elements and lighted them with help of the color thumb. when seperating, i constantly think about the shapes of the elements, so im replacing/refining the linedrawing with them kind of.
Yeah, I am wondering the same thing. I am curious how you decided to combine different elements? Like if you had different real-world reference you like for certain shapes, etc. that you decided to combine based on a concept of the different elements, etc. Awesome work!
