I followed the info from this thread at crydev: http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=326&t=72419 It is mostly the shadow settings in cryengine that need tweaking, I suppose very high spec takes care for the rest. And also, there were no lod-s for the meshes :) works well for custom vegetation.. -

This generation wont have the mega leap the last one had. Going from painted maps to the ability to having material definition was so massive, it defined the current generation and nothing even in the future will have such a leap. From now until games look exactly photo real it will just be improvements on things that… -

Like r_fletch_r said, its a Solid State Harddrive. They're significantly faster then traditional hard drives (3.5 7200rpm = up to about 117mb/s read speed, current generation SSDs = up to about 550mb/s read speed). Its great being able to load up Photoshop in under 2 seconds, or Maya in under 8, and a lot of in-app stuff… -

My vision of "Next-Gen" from a rogue insider. Here it is folks, it's gonna be amazing! (These are honestly just guesses.) That last couple months of optimizing and polishing to actually get the game to run might be reduced....slightly....kinda. But not really. Will actually probably be worse. Why?
