I agree with JadeEyePanda, her skin should less glow, you can paint a sss map instead mto control the effect. I like the details of her armour, only crit point ... the dark parts looks a little bit like plastic, I would give the material a more defined gloss. -

I totally agree. This was my first try at getting skin done in Arnold, I really need more practice on that. IDK either, the meter scale I found in the documentation for SSS values wasn`t working properly in this model. Next time I want to get over this. My huge thanks for the feedback sir. -

I know awesome stuff is happening here, and I want to appreciate it, but I have no clear mathematical understanding of wwhat is going on. Man, everytime I talk to graphics engineers from the studios working on this sort of stuff, my mind just goes kaputz. Though, I CAN see the SSS is kicking in like a mule. -

If you can use Fresnel as a base in the Transluceny node, work your way up from there, it should help abit. That's the cheapest way I know of doing it quickly and dirty. Sprung is right on the money with taking a look at the DN package. You could look for the SSS shader also:… -

The sss I was doing wasnt so good before, tweaked them a bit, painted new maps. put in some poly alpha eyebrows... hair & 'stache next. Hmm feeling like my lips are lacking a bit of normal map definition. also need to give sclera some texture... mental note to revisit that. -

I thinks its cool. Very good rendering for low calculation cost. Subtle shadowing and sss kinda on penis weapon would be hard to get with just painting, and also you can bake all ao and stuff, making texturing easier. I tried this once, but had a bit of pain with specular which is camera dependent. -

Hello, Is it possible to have two different materials on the one single object separated by uvs? (if it works like that) For example if I have a creature or human character with mouth opened, I assume inner mouth should be made with one material and outter mouth with other material (human skin material or SSS) fort the… -
