They're looking pretty realistic. I'd add a stream along the rocks and some foliage and go for a nice forest/planes stream. -

He talk i guess when they exit the forest area and down the hill has concrete pilar that soldiers use for cover. -

Personally, I'm still in love with the art style and direction of Kentucky Route Zero. Especially the beautiful use of masking in the forest scene towards the end of Episode 2.
