I am mainly looking for feedback at this point regarding the general idea of what I am about to illustrate now. Do you like, think it can be improved? I should note here that I am not a native english speaker and not so good at grammer in general (no matter which language) so excuse that for now. I will create a propper…
Hi guys, first time here so I'm not sure if this is the right place to post my question and I hope there are plenty of Handpaint artists around here that can give me some nice tips to improve myself. Anyway, back to the topic. I've been texturing a sculpt I made in zbrush and retopo in blender with 3D coat (I've seen…
I started experimenting with material shaders for my modular room kit. The vertex painting was working nicely now so I tried implementing displacement too. The kind of material I'm looking for at the moment is an old broken plaster over brick wall. I know displacement is expensive but I plan to reserve it only for…
[ QUOTE ] Looks cool, but... maybe it's just me, but the original feels more painted to me. [/ QUOTE ] thats actually quite a compliment the point about cropping is that it's easier for the painter (or photoshop marquee wielder) to set the correct composition than it is for the photographer, at least in my case. To my eye,…
not bad at all for a first try. two points: - paint in edge highlights along your corners, will make those polys look smoother. - add in more color variation, possibly reflected color from the ground, and discoloration on the wood.
Hello to my fellow polycounters! I’ve been working on a character in the evenings after my day-job, in hopes of pushing my portfolio forwards. In the past I’ve either had a fairly generalist portfolio, or the chosen designs were not visually strong. I’ve reflected a lot lately, and decided to push forwards with a stylized…
Its something I've been putting off for some time, probably because I'm not sure where to start and what the best way to approach it is. I've got a mental block on it as a result. Does anyone have some good advice on techniques, starting points? Should I start purely with perspective or replicate photographs? Interior…
Hey everyone! Thanks in advance for your help. Doing my first photogrammetry scan of a rock. What if my control points do not capture all camera angles? Do I have to keep adding more control points until it encapsulates every jpg and mask? I have a total of 110 images for top and bottom. Only about 20 of the images are…
@myclay May I point out that your screenshot of viewpaint is really the exact interface of Avid's Matador, so it was likely cobbled together with duct tape from commercial software somehow at ILM. Also felt truly awful to use (Matador, that is). Not envious of super secret inhouse software if we're counting that one. B)…
I agree with Sectaurs on mulitple points, also look into digital painting tutorials such as the ones found here http://www.furiae.com/index.php?view=gallery they helped me a lot
