Advanced painter or similar for 3ds Max 2010?
I can't seem to install Advanced Painter for 3ds max 2010. It keeps giving me a "copy error" every time I run the script. I'm on win 7 64bit, is there a way to install this? Or is there a built in object painter in 3ds max 2010? I think I may have read in a thread here that there is one in the graphite tools but I can't… -

Biped has its own curve editor called workbench. Its accessible through the biped menu in the command panel on the right when you have a biped piece selected. Its right next to "mixer". Try modo and decide yourself. I replaced Max with modo since its first version and i don't regret it. It should speed up if you stop using the default Max viewport shader display. What version of Max are you using? If it's Max 2008 or above, then it ships with a custom fx shader called StandardFX.fx You can apply this shader by changing the material type from "Standard" to "DirectX Shader", then browse to that .fx file… -

Sounds like your shortcut configuration is off on your new profile. Try this: Go to your old profile, load max, customize -> customize user interface under the keyboard tab click save and save the config in a location you can easily find from your other profile. (NOT desktop) load your other profile and open max, customize… -

Yeah, gmax shares many of the UV tools that max has. UVW Map Unwrap UVW UVW XForm They aren't as feature rich, but the basics are there. Most Max tutorials can be applied to Gmax. -
Synching up maya and max's scale?
I was very suprised to find that my now both Autodesk owned version of Maya (ver. 8) and Max (ver 9) do not have the same scale. Or am I just completely mad here? I think there is a script to export to md3 that is supposed to be better than the plugins that were out there, so that might work.
