I like sculptris :) the performance is pretty good for me, this head is about 500 000 triangles pulled straight out the default sphere and doesnt feel slow at all, just been using this piece to try all the features and Im quite impressed.
I'd like to encourage everyone attending GDC to come visit the Marmoset booth (#302), I'm sure Joe and I can give any pointers, and there may be other ways we can help you spice up your portfolios too!
Hey there, So I have fair amount of time free at the moment so I'm taking the opportunity to boost my portfolio and improve my 3d skills. I'm going to create Tye n' Rex aiming for 10, 000 tris and 2x1024 textures. Since I'm making this for my folio any crits would be great. No part of the design is final...
Were guessing that the polycount forum probably has lots of experienced artists who want a bit more than just standard tree models, so we thought we'd show how easy it is to generate customized trees in Forester Pro. These can be exported as collada, fbx or X files and so, if you really want, you can continue to tweak in…
http://www.dailygaming.net/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=202 One day earlier, I would think this was an April Fools joke. It starts with Pokemon, I wonder what is next? Spore? They should try banning something more dangerous to young minds...like tornadoes.
HP - looks awesome, thumbs up! Unwraps look pretty messy and need to be more efficient (5% waste TOPS!). Tile identical pieces on top of each other, only leave unique UVs for unique damage/textures. Check out this Benelli Orb made: http://orbart.free.fr/index.php?Gallery=102
I use UV Transform to map 2D faces on to 3d characters. discussed here: https://www.pixelfondue.com/blog/2016/10/24/modo-102-2d-face-workflow-on-3d-characters You can also map image sequences onto the geo and move them around by moving the texture locators.

yeah the hardware on some of the macs is a bit slower. but at least the operating system has actually been updated regularly since 2002, unlike windows. And this thread was to primarily talk over the OS. Which does seem to be a frightening beast unless you get the opportunity to use it. Then you will stop the hate and see…
[ QUOTE ] Ion was am abitious, pretencious bunch with incredibly poor AI coders since their very first game (daikatana). [/ QUOTE ] That's Ion Storm Dallas, and they died out in 2002. Don't confuse it with Ion Storm Austin, who also did Deus Ex which was an excellent game (around DK's release).
