I'd be interested in seeing your portfolio just to see if you really are ready for this industry. Videogame courses have been all the rage recently at many small colleges, and to be honest, most of the time they just pass people who aren't ready. I myself am art school dropout.
I still don't get why everything in videogames has to be rusty and damaged. The chair is completely isolated in a giant room with no objects, and doesn't look like it can be moved. The design also implies that the chair and the guy have been in the same position for centuries. There's honestly no logical explanation for…
I always thought this was normal if somebody spent a moderate amount of time consuming content from a TV show/videogame that they really enjoyed. I've been having these for a while and they can get pretty whacky at times lol. More recently I just have math related nightmares though :(
Anyone else see this article about companies charging people thousands of dollars to 'buy' their way into internships at top companies? http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/09/business/09intern.html Not sure how prevalent this practice is within the videogame or other creative arts industries, but it's pretty disgusting either…
[ QUOTE ] What perspective in particular are you looking for? [/ QUOTE ] Perspective? Sorry If it wasn't clear. The perspective of trying to understand different techniques used to create clouds in videogames. Thanks for the pointers guys. I should have googled first really. I think I've found some useful stuff.
I need to see it! In the same vein, this is pretty excruciating to watch: http://www.pistolwimp.com/media/54311/ It's chock full of insightful gems such as "The interactive game is in low resolution, because computers cant process high res images quickly enough" and "computer programmers create the videogames menu settings…
^ ^ The problem with modelling concave eyeballs in videogames, is we don't model the inner eye socket like they do in films. We model it into a cone point, and generally let it intersect with the eyeball. So what happens is, when characters look up or down, we see the iris clip with the inner eye socket.
ps everyone asking for cave story: Just buy it! Pixel made the game like six years ago, over a five year period, ALONE, released it FOR FREE, still offers that version publicly, and it's one of the best 2d videogames ever made by anybody. He deserves his five bucks!
I think the Special Edition Metal Gear Solid 4/PS3 bundle still do, but I'm not 100% sure on that. [ame]http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Metal-Gear-Solid-Pack/dp/B0014WJ78E/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1217872304&sr=8-1[/ame]
