Hello to my fellow polycounters! I’ve been working on a character in the evenings after my day-job, in hopes of pushing my portfolio forwards. In the past I’ve either had a fairly generalist portfolio, or the chosen designs were not visually strong. I’ve reflected a lot lately, and decided to push forwards with a stylized…
It's not surprising you didn't get many comments... your work is extremely stylized which makes it hard to give technical feedback and giving design feedback is hard because most of it just comes down to "looks bad because of x imo" There aren't a whole lot of rules to design, just suggestions. If you want better advice…
This is not bad concerning clothes there are cool effects What annoys me is the difference between face and cloth, the styles are different, look like two different people did that. - The brushes used in the clothes are too sharp I think, a sweet smudge pass wouldn't be a shame. - Do not forget that with the belt, the…
@JimmyRustler: Looking good. like the Head, Maybe try a different version on the front on helmet. @DonEngland: The head hat should more dirty for my feels. @ladyknowles like it alot. keep going. @AA3D & PyrZern no words. looks great. --- I did close the Cloth its now solid and coulds be 3dprinted. copying some parts use…
The only thing that is bugging me right now is the cloth. It feels a bit like a bath robe currently. I think the cloth overlay you have going is just too strong and too much the same across the model. I think it would help to have different aspects to have different cloth types/ textures. Like changing the pants and the…
Hey so I'm trying to make a pair of baggy pants for my character for me to animate without cloth physics but I am having an exceedingly difficult time getting the topology right (https://polycount.com/discussion/221957/how-can-i-improve-the-topology-of-these-pants#latest) so I'm considering MD. I know I can make a pair of…
LATEST: Maxine Caulfield Life is strange is a great game and while I like the visual style a lot, I'm interested in what a more realistic version of the main character would look like. I've chosen her outfit from Episode 3 as it's my favorite and looks like good cloth practice. :) Main Goals: * Likeness * Practice creating…
the quality is really impressive, nice work on her skin and materials in general. I know this kinda goes against the cyberpunk/neon theme but personally I would like to see a version where she has much more limited colour on her clothes in particular as the colours are grabbing so much of my attention its hard to even…
Hello guys. I want to try myself in creating characters and i am interested in stylization, like in the projects ZZZ. Please share resources, tips and experience in creating such characters from scratch. How to make clothes for them and other possible things that may be useful in this matter. Thank you for your attention.
Clothes would most likely be wool or cotton, I expect. Check out Filson clothing company -- they make clothes with 19th century materials and styles. If realism is the goal, I think spending more time getting more layers of secondary forms in the face and the clothing will go a long way. It's tough with children because…
