hawken: How so? If you're running at that res, you should be used to pages that load using the whole thing...? I'm using 1600x1200 and it doesn't look any different than any other page-- like these forums for example. ?
I think maya/xsi/max should work to standardize somethings, like feature names, what is the up direction, standardize normal maps generation, etc. Also, 3ds's UI could be a bit better, like this for example,
Actually you'll still have a multires mesh. For example, try applying any topology-changing modifier after doing that and Blender will say "cannot apply with multires active." You have to apply the multires to make it non-multires.
Quite often using edit poly on the stack will result in corrupted meshes. For example doing a few collapse edges and then and then an undo can do this, so when I am optimizing stuff I try and using target weld.
Not sure if this is helpful. But I made an example to teach this to my students. I can share the Maya project with you if that would be helpful. [ame] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiPn6orWwFg[/ame] And here is my stunning texture flat :)
Games, of course. But I'm also big on building/painting models, as well as fudging with electronics. I've modded my PC mice, for example, and I'm currently working on my Xbox and PS2. It's just relaxing to fiddle around with stuff.
I think he wants to render it with mentalray or maya software, also if you are using a simple example converting it to a height map at render time might not be noticeable, it's things like characters where there are drastic angles in the normal map.
ok....this whole skin wrap thingy. i tried setting up just like your example MUZZ. however i am missing something. i add the plane at the bottom.....max does calculations.....but nothing happens.
mm, what if you have a base model that you are totally happy with, say a head for example. In a way that is a template and if you used that for commercial work I can't see why you should not use it again at another contract.
nibs have different shapes and made of different materials to better emulate various traditional drawing materials. But like you i have never changed my nibh example: http://www.wacom.com.sg/price/accessories/intuos3/intuos3_nibs.html
