Hi guys, Does anybody know if there is a way to show an object's name in maya viewport(selected\unselected), and specifically for locators only ? Thanks in advance for any tip ;)
Thanks for the replies! ^^ @danr: There should be more games on the DS like GTA CW! It's technically excellent, and I remember that shadows were almost impeccable. Having them work correctly via coding it's quite difficult, and I'm sure that the coder of the Software House I'm working with is way too lazy to try that...…
hey thanks mark, I meant it as more of a general question for objects that have a lot of verts/polys on the inside that are inside the object and not really affecting the outside geometry. I don't want to limit the answer to this one object but for a simple rope, I took a cylinder and duplicated it 4x overlapping inside…
Is there any way to get an object to cast shadows with SSAO differently than the rest of the scene? It seems like it should be possible with layers but I haven't been able to figure out how to do it. Basically, I want a stronger shadow under the car, but not elsewhere. Image:
Hi all, I'm getting a weird smoothing group error at the top of this object, there's visible lines diving it up into triangles. Any idea why this is happening? Cheers! Dan
Hi all, Before I begin, I'd like to clarify that I'm aware this issue has been covered extensively in the past, such as on Earthquake's Sticky thread in this section (http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81154). I understand the issue at hand, though specifically I'm seeking advice on the best option available…
I'm trying to bake out some object space normals in max9 atm, and am getting odd artifacts at random places. Ex: This is the first time I've tried baking these sort of maps (always use tangent), so am not really up on all the problems/solutions involved when working with them. Any ideas?
I am currently working on a uni project and have run into a problem when I reimported one of my walls. The problem happened after I applied a multi Sub Object onto the model and reimported it. I have tried applying another material on it in 3ds max with no success. Any help or insight would be appreciated
