OK, I'm going to assume the entire leading and trailing edges of the wing are control surfaces, as are the trailing edges of the tail and the canards. Aerodynamically, it seems like it's going to be too unstable - the centre of pressure looks like it's going to be way too far forward as soon as it's not going dead…
So applying New-Age Censorship vs. Old-Age Censorship in my free-time is OK? It's funny on how people who ask 'Live and let live' for their own life are the very first ones to make condescending remarks on other peoples 'Likes' or what they do in their free time. Essentially, New-Age Bigotry on what is a 'unsullied'…
As a freelancer, you should be charging for your work. If they can't pay you, you should move on. How are you going to support yourself if you always work for free? I know there are a LOT of CG artists out there who put out amazing work so it's easy for a person to think that his own work is not "worth" anything because…
For the lightmap uvs I just left at least 3-4 grid points around the border and 2-3 between the shells, i didnt even focus on maximizing the lightmap uv space, just that the edges were on grid points and there was a bit of padding around everything. when its all said and done, the uvs probably are around 70% of the space…
http://design.osu.edu/carlson/history/lessons.html this course here is really nice if you want to see the "big picture" on computer graphics progress. If you look at what some "simulators" could do graphics wise, it was also quite impressive 20-30 years ago. But well now we have things running on phones and whatnot. I…
Look you're not wrong, and I'm not saying it's ok, it's something I just expect because as far as i know this is the accepted reality. I remember articles and people suggesting getting into game dev or CG is the kind of work you get into while you're young, cause you'll work long hours, more than likely travel and have to…
Hi 3DLee, Its a cool start and is a nice environment to put in your portfolio but i think there are still definately areas you can improve on. - You have a lot of edge transitions where two objects meet which stand out. For example where the house hits the ground the concrete at the bottom would be darker and maybe…
Updating Old Characters to PBR Part 1 - Ell: Concept By Rabbiteyes After a long time coming, I've decided it would be worth a shot to update my old work from school to fit more with a PBR friendly pipeline. I knew to be done properly it would take a lot of redoing of textures, so I tried to hack my way through without…
I'm glad you guys like the alphas. I can't take credit for them though, they're from here I'm done! Here are the final screenshots! I ended up re-doing the lighting and post process from scratch. I was having alot of trouble with the bakes so I watched one of the Unreal Academy's lighting tutorial and it helped to setup my…
i'm with 'who cares'. It's all a matter of taste, personally i prefer reading a good novel over playing whatever awesome game. Better graphics equal bigger hollywood explosions and the stories and gameplay in games still can't hold a candle against a good old book. One day it might, but i suspect it will go down the path…
