Only have some basic concepts on paper and they dont rly look similar. Its mostly inspired by Abaddons Lore and the war against the Nerubians. The blade is Nyx's claw, the piece above it is from Nyx's helmet. The stuff at the back is Nyx's Jaws and a foot, mby :D
I saw all the CA talks at GDC, and it was all great stuff. I'd spent some time last year building a similar substance pipeline, but you guys have really taken it to another level. Super inspiring, thanks so much for sharing all this!
Cool! It looks like the area surrounding the stone blocks looks more like clay than stone. I'm not a rock sculpting expert, but I'd look into using a flat brush like trim dynamic or hpolish to achieve that look. Check out the rawk thread for inspiration.
Oh man, first post from Tor Frick himself! Huge fan of your work. You are a huge inspiration for me when it comes to hardsurface stuff. Keep cranking all that amazing Modo goodness, and don't forget to stream again. (loved that sick techno.)
Hey, just saw your finished render on pinterest, quite inspiring, I'm using it as reference to sharpen my skills with the new ZModeler brush (hope you don't mind). Interesting that you work for King as they are something of an influence in terms of game design (complete coincidence) :-)
I agree, Jerusalem and Damascus were inspired environments in the original game. Sort of wish the new consoles were more powerful and those cities were revisited. On the other hand... Industrial Revolution British Empire might be great fuel for some epic "Steam Punk".
Since my last post, I've been trying to buff up a bit more detail into the scene, adding and polishing and such. Also thought it was time to start looking at hinting towards interior details. A little inspired by the Matrix demo and Spiderman games, I decided to make fake interiors using a scene capture texture which used…
Recetly I got a test for applying as a senior 3D environment artist. The task was to make a small level inspired by a piece of concept art by the amazing Dmitry Barbashin and make it feel different. It also had to run with 60 FPS on my 8 years old Android phone (it does). With the generous permission of Dmitry I am posting…
Hello! I wanted to create a strong piece for my portfolio and was inspired by one of my favourite childhood games, Stronghold Crusader, to recreate a classic unit from the game in a modern way. The Swordsman has always been the most iconic thing about Crusader for me and I did my best to capture the feel of the original…
Hey everyone, This is a prop inspired by a real newspaper machine in my city. I've made environments but wanted to focus my detail and storytelling onto one prop. I'm going to use it as a part of a small diorama scene but wanted to post it by itself so I can have it on my portfolio in the meantime. Thanks for checking it…
