Thanks. I spend my days at work doing high poly normal map stuff. So i'm not very used to adding in alot of ambient shading into my texture work. Good idea though. I'll post some more when i'm rigged it and tweaked the texture a bit.
well we've got more questions than answers at this point. I would assume that animations are stored separate of the rigged mesh? Do the exporters take .bip files and translate them to the appropriate format as well? Thanks for the replies guys, I'll start chasing the leads you guys posted.
heh, no prob at all. There are a few guys that have used biped around there. This stuff is normally the biggest hurdle people face when using biped, it work a little different from any other traditional rig, but once you get the terms and the work flow down its pretty slick.
Thats harsh dude. Drives will usually either fail in the first 3 months or make it 3 years and then start to fail. Read some white papers on the topic recently. Did you try reseating the cables? only about a 10% chance of it working but with a newer rig it happens more often.
Owshhhi, srrrry for the intervention, wrong thread :D I gave you some crits on fp tho.. Yeah, i know, but I'm kinda limited with my low-end rig and lack of tablet, I'm just trying to keep doing something until I'll get a better setup.
I got a intern with the help of friends who work there, and i wanted to get a good experience for game and film sir. Well i wanted to do that workflow, to create a character in Zbrush, and then to do re topo for the rigging and animation. I just wanted to know, does studios work in this way.
You could work a bit on his stance/posture and giving him bigger shoulders + smaller waist, unless you're consciously aiming for a bit of an older character? /edit also, Ben Mathis has a good mini tutorial on shoulders for rigging etc, you should check it out at www.poopinmymouth.com
Using maya. To be exported as .fbx into Unity engine. Maya has spline ik. I'll try that out (and check out the tutorial link you've proivided). Thanks. There will be plastic tie clips to hold bunches of thin wires. So I might start and terminate the rig(s) at those junctures.
Here is the third robot I finished recently. He's one of 2 companion to Dudley. Again these aren't my renders or models or textures, those were handled by Stephen Gibson http://www.ssgibson.ca/ I did the character rigging and will hopefully have an animation of them soon to show that off better.
I was digging around earlier, I think I still have my Panther XL buried somewhere.. not that I can hook it up to my current rig. :D This game combined with the Black Prophecy MMO, may mean it's finally time to buy a joystick for my comp. :poly142:
