He used to be involved with the muppets. Oh, there is a story someone told me of an old lady yelling at one of his sculptures at the Guggenheim because it wouldn't give her the time or directions or something. Edit. Opps it wasnt him, another contemporary artist who makes life size dressed models.
Thanks for all the good feed back Jose, my intent is 3d printable statue / sculpture. This is just the progresses that I have done so far. I am going to keep working on the anatomy and defiantly going to work on that fur and hair. Thanks again for the feed back. This is a personal project.
I actually just try to get started anywhere. I am afraid that just doing what I enjoy is not necessarily what helps me find a job. The most fun I had replicating classical sculptures or paintings but I dont know if that kind of work is really needed.
This, a thousand times. The forms on that model are really "squishy" and I guarantee you'll have far more control (and you'll learn a lot more) if you build it out by hand. The functionality of that 123catch app looks amazing, but it can't do the sculptural work for you if you don't have the artistic skills.
I've done some work on my female anatomy sculpture. I'm trying to take all the previous advice on board and just focus on shape without starting detailing. With that in mind, are there any areas here that are in dire need of attention? Some comments would be great to give me a bit of direction.
this was an advanced blockout from two weeks ago, i had to work on other projects but im back on this until the end. So far i have started the sculpture work on the pillars and i started building the main modular textures. should have much more to show at the end of the week.
I'm thinking of registering for this course in January and I'd like to do the full enrollment, but is $895 worth the feedback? I could pay for the standard enrollment, but then again someone I know already has the course content.. whereas with the full enrollment I could be getting some very useful advice. Anyone familiar…
Hello, I have been trying to recreate the body of a sculpture named "The sleep of sorrow and The dream of joy" by Raffaelle Monti in Zbrush. I feel like the anatomy isn't quite right yet. Feedback would be very helpful. Thank you for your time! P.S. I added a couple of my reference from my PureRef board.
So from what I understand, its basically a fancy way of saying your creating a low poly version of your high poly sculpture? If so, am I right in assuming you could make the low poly version through a general program like Maya or do you have to make it in a program like Topogun?
"Does modeling as a game artist who follow the reference 1-1 and try to recreate it in 3D and make it as close to the reference as possible considered an Art or just a Craft?" The latter. EDIT: Specifically, Renaissance Masters were also referred too as a 'Master Craftsman or Tradesman' during their careers, since they…
