Reseting the tool can also fix issues like that too. Go to the tools properties and there will be a reset button. The issue might be on the transform itself, always a good idea to reset it too.
Hello! I've been posting daily sculpts for two weeks into my sketchbook but I realize thats probably not the forum for feedback. I'll post all the ones Ive done so far into this master post and then trickle them out as I work my way through the second part of this month of sculpting. To not flood the page I'll just post…
Thank you all for your feedback! Bohkeh: 1) The asymmetry where you pointed out is the result of mirrored UVs. I noticed the roughness variation stood out quite a bit, along with a long scratch, so I painted those areas out to reduce the repeating/asymmetry. 2) For the metal, that is a really good point. I noticed that…
It really depends on how many polys we're talking about in a per-poly scenario. If you're meshes are fairly well optimized it's not going to be too big of an issue to use it, the time it saves artists is probably a huge boost to productivity. However if the meshes are fairly intricate then you're probably not going to want…
Following on from what artquest said, here is my two cents: The background images is definitely distracting I would scrap that and maybe even contemplate going for a more simple website such as carbonmade or something, either that or copy a simple template like that cause it just makes work easier to view sci fi room: I…
Updated the torso. The straps look a bit strange at the bottom, that's because I reused them from hands. I am going to cut them later in any way. The torso itself is not the most difficult part of the body, but sometimes it was tricky to make all the details fit good where it's many layers. Some close up shots to show the…
Stunning work on the props and especially the materials, lovely work! I'm not a huge fan of the final picture though, mostly because of the composition. It's quite hard to read because you don't really have a clear focus point. The original concept doesn't have a clear one either, but it has a lot of rhythm with the darker…
Ok, time to update once more. I've tried your techniques (@cryrid), the "Project All" one first because it sounded more solid, from a topological point of view. .: I have imported the low-poly skull as a new subtool :. Manually aligned it to the sculpted one (apparently, it doesnt work unless the two models are…
I've been trying unsuccessfully to break into the game industry for years now and I've hit a wall. I've sent probably a hundred or more applications to game companies and usually either get a swift rejection letter or no response at all. The art tests I've managed to actually get (two) I've failed. I've been working in…
[Moderator note: original author requested their account be deleted. We're preserving this topic for it's overall usefulness, and scrubbing their name per their request.] So, I've been spending the last week trying to learn a workflow that won't get obsolete in two years time when the new consoles are well stablished and…
